The Passing of Sagattarius

I Awoke from a dream and wrote down all I could remember. In the dream, I attended a memorial service in a curious temple at which a man stood up and delivered a eulogy that included these poetic words:

Pour wine and dance if we yet have pride,
Bring roses if roses be still in bloom;
Winter looms on the mountain side,
Lord Sagittarius is sleeping in his tomb.

I set to work painting this imagery, including everything remembered from the dream, including imagery from the poem. This painting illustrates the patterns and rhythms of nature, the months and weeks of the year and the turning of the seasons. Also, for those who read more deeply it reveals a complex esoteric message.
